Dust Yourself Off!

Dust yourself off everytime that you fall,
Chances are this was not the worst fall of them all.

Don't count the bruises, mistakes are you friend.
There is magic in the lesson you'll learn in the end.

Even if you chose the shoes you love, to wear.
You can still fall; still tumble, whether fair or unfair.

Live in the moment, don't fear for the trip.
Don't worry if you end up in pants with a rip.

It's worth it to walk, even skip, if you will.
As a fall can so happen, if you even stand still!

So, crawl, run, hike, tread; do one or do all!
Just dust yourself off every time that you fall!

A friend is one that laughs that laugh, that brings tears to your eyes.

A friend is one that cries with you, not wondering the why's...

A friend, she's lovely, bold and bright, and puts a smile all over your face!

She'll dance; she'll sing; she'll scream for you, no matter the case!

You know she's there, no care what time- bright and early, or late at night.

If you need her to battle the toughest of battles with you, she'd be first to fight the fight!

What is your spoonful of sugar?

For me, it is friends, picture taking, Julius, my family.
Spoonfuls of sugar, are those delightful things that balance out the not so delightful things we have to go through in life.

And we all have them.
Sometimes, we are faced with more medicine than we can swallow.
So, I have decided, for me, I am going to surround myself with as many spoonfuls of sugar to wash it down with.
I have failed to in the past, and as a result, have been faced with a few consequences for denying that I am entitled to a few spoonfuls of sugar.
Don’t’ make my mistake.

Grab a spoon, grab as many as you wish.

We worry about so many things in life, that can lead to emotional distress.
But it is important to realize that this emotional distress can only stay emotional for so long, until our thoughts can no longer handle them anymore, and our bodies move in, to help out.
This is when our physical body decides where it needs to hold the stress, for our minds, so that we don’t go crazy.

Well, this is not a good thing.
Sometimes, like with people, our bodies think they are doing us a favour, but in actuality, it is burdening us with more problems, causing dis-ease .
If our bodies take our minds troubles away, this causes disease in our physical bodies.

And not only this, but then it is creating more room in our minds, for more emotional distress, continuing an unhealthy pattern.

Our body responds to stress by making stress hormones. These hormones help your body respond to situations of extreme need. But when your body makes too many of these hormones for a long period of time, the hormones wear down your body.

This is our bodies believing it is coming in to save the day.

Instead of giving our bodies the responsibility of taking our problems off our shoulders (minds) and storing them away into our organs, and other parts of our physical body to then cause bigger problems, let’s do what Mary Poppins sings so wonderfully about.

Grab a spoonful of sugar, or 2 or 10, and create things in your life, that will help the medicine go down, and balance your life out with wonderful healthy ways to enjoy your time!

We wear ourselves thin with stress, work, expectations from other, from ourselves, and we fail to remember that we have a choice, at the end of the day.
But we need to pay attention to this, before it is too late.

We can either block our noses, and dread the medicine, time and time again, complaining of the taste, or we can grab a teaspoon of sugar, and let the medicine be what it is, but don’t let the overpowering taste scare you, just mix in a little love and compassion for yourself, and give your body a rest!

SaY nO MoRe!!!!!!

Walk the streets, when down and out,
Spoon ice cream and take a shout!!!
Love and dreams are what life's about
So, run with it, like there's no doubt!

Feel the breeze through your hair,
Jump in the puddles, like you don't care.
Enjoy all life, like it's all fair
And walk the beach, with feet so bare.

Chill out with ones you love so deep
And hold them tight, while in your sleep.
Make sure to act, cause talk is cheap,
And don't crawl, but take a leap!

For life has risks and wonders to choose
So, smile whenever you have the blues
We all have memories that leave a bruise
But the lessons leave you nothing to lose

A heart is worth sharing,so try not to fear,
Take a chance, even if it leaves you a tear.
The time that you cry balance with times of great cheer,
And the feeling of having one to hold dear.

Tiny Dancers

Sometimes I feel like a tiny dancer.
Do you?
Dancing away in life.
Sometimes I fumble over my feet, dance with two lefts, you know?

It all really depends what song I am listening to.
Sometimes, fun summer music! I love my summer playlist.
Other times, it is more the emotional teary eyed county music; gets me every time.

We know what songs we love to dance to, we know what songs we love to cry to.
There is always a memory, and an emotion tied to those special songs, that when you play them, your world flies back to that very moment when the song struck a chord in your life. You feel like you are right there, back then.

Why do we sometimes put in that heart wrenching CD, and play it over and over and over again?

We own the the music, no one is forcing us to listen to the songs that brings sad emotions, except us.

We love to wallow in sadness sometimes.
It is fine to do so, "sometimes."

But we needn't overanalyse those emotions.
We need to know when to put that fun summer music back on, and dance!!!
Let the song play once, and on with the next.
Dance with friends, dance alone, but be sure to smile when you do.

No one will judge you for your dancing, so dance how ever you see fit, for as long as you wish...

It's great for the soul, so grab your soulmate's hand, if you were lucky enough to find them, and dance...

LuCy sMiLeS, and dances....

For all I know...

For all I know, the sky is sad, though sun shines its way through.
For all I know, the flowers speak, and smile if they feel blue.

For all I know, the dreams I have don't all have to come true
For all I know, if I feel sad, I can smile to change it too.

For all I know, the weeds were flowers, just saddened when they grew.
For all I know, the future is bright, so bright for me and you.

Life's throws... keep your eyes on the ball!

It is necessary for us to be faced with some curve balls in life,
to make the changes we need to progress successfully.
Life has a lot of different throws.

Mind you, sometimes, in my attempt, I fail to catch the ball.

Now, this failure can be looked at as, well, failure.
Or, we can reassess our catching strategy, improve it, and be better prepared for next time.

It is not about life's throws as much as catching the ball.
Take what life throws at you today, don't worry about the
balls you failed to catch yesterday, or the ones that may be missed tomorrow. Don't anticipate anything more than what is.
But, no matter what, don't duck!

Hold your head up high, arms out… to catch with confidence! Chances are you will catch it more successfully with each throw sent your way.

And when you fail to catch, don't think of it as failure, but as an
opportunity to be more prepared for next time.

And, when life gives you a day without curve balls?
Enjoy them, and enjoy them with the special people in your life.
Ah, life’s throws… How do you catch the ball?

_______________

EXTENDED VERSION

When you wake up, the voices wake up with you. What are they saying? How much of what they say is true? And how much of that truth can be switched into something useful? Rather than a hindrance?

I love truth. I fear it sometimes; we all do.

But it is wonderful and necessary for us to be faced with it, to make the changes we need to make and to also look at where we are and step up to the plate!

It is not about life's throws as much as catching the ball.
How do you catch the ball?

I remember, not too long ago, catching the balls of life's throws, I would duck, look away and hope not to get hit in the head; squinting my eyes, and feeling all the hairs at the back of my head just stand straight straight up in the air. My neck muscles tightening so hard, I would have a headache for hours that passed, all from the one second of hope of not getting hit in the head.

Now, not so much. Now, more often than not, I keep my eyes on the ball.

Now, I look forward, see the ball coming right for me ( it usually does come straight for me, hense alot of the time my ducking with hope, lead to being hit it the head- also another reason for the headache, besides the tense muscles), and I reach my arms out, and attempt the successful catch!

Mind you, sometimes, in my attempt, I fail to catch the ball.

Now, this failure can be looked at as, well, failure. Or, I can reassess my catching strategy, improve it, and be better prepared for next time. I also know that I can get help on my catch, from so many people. People who are so willing to help me, sometimes those whom which I never really imagined would take the time to really go over how I was catching, my posture, my style, and really help me see where I may be going wrong, how I can improve for next time. Most importantly, really allowing me to look at the exact reason why I was failing to catch the ball in the first place.

I see it now. And I know that my new technique is really going to help my game!

Today had no life's throws. It felt amazing. I laid in the grass, dilly dallied, enjoyed everything the city had to offer, and really just lived, breathing in every moment, and enjoying it, without scurrying and worrying.

It felt refreshing, not to have a ball thrown in my face. I realized I haven't really had one of these days, for a long time.

Throughout the day, there were a few true messages, that I sincerely paid attention to, and appreciated as well.

The messages were needed, and I took from them, what I needed to go forward.

I had no game of life's throws, but I had a special person coach me on my catch strategy, and was patient with me, as I took my time to learn.
I am thankful. So thankful.

An Irish proverb states " Better one good thing that is, rather than two good things that were, or three good things that might never come to pass..."

Today I really enjoyed one good thing after another... after another... after another...

I woke up with the voices that anxiously had me scurrying, and worrying, because of the uncertainty of tomorrow.
But then I realized that if life throw me a curve ball tomorrow, I have no way of catching it today.
I can wonder how to catch it, I can prepare to catch it, but I can only enjoy the game of life handed to me today.

And look, no curve ball. So, I have decided to make a promise to myself.
You can do the same, it is simple, and it can really help:

Take what life throws at you today, don't worry about the balls you failed to catch yeaterday, or the ones that may be missed tomorrow.
Don't anticipate anything more than what is.

And, no matter what, don't duck!
Hold your head up high, arms out to to catch with confidence!
Chances are you will catch it more successfully with each throw.
And when you fail to catch, don't think of it as failure, but as an opportunity to be more prepared for next time.

And, when life gives you a day without curve balls? Enjoy them, and enjoy them with the special people in your life.

Lay in the grass, walk in the sun, let the hours pass without wondering what is next.
Allow for things to be, how they end up being, not how you think they should be.
What is the point of playing a game, when you already know the outcome? What fun would that be?

Not everyday will be a picnic, and not every day will be a walk on the beach, so when you are given the opportunity to enjoy these days, take them.
Believe me, it is worth every last second.

And until the clock strikes 12, and the new day is here, I will keep my eye on the ball of today, and worry about tomorrow's game tomorrow.
